I just got back from my National Meeting
phweeeeeeeew! I am so tired. My day started at 5am and we had functions till 10:15 each evening for 3 days. I just got back on Saturday evening. Lots of information. We had excellent artists that performed for us (a definite benefit for working in the music biz)! Here is a list of the performers I saw this last week:
The Jones Gang, Ryan Caberra, Chris Botti, Pauly Shore, Hulk Hogan, Brooke Hogan, Glen Lewis, Randy Jackson, Rich Vos, Jerrery Steele, Tamirah Grey, Van Hunt, Jeff Timmons, Jonathan Cain, Boyz II Men, Black Eyed Peas, and Collective Soul.
(I missed a few, I was very tired each evening and I didn't write everyone's name down like I should have)

I start my new JOB tomorrow!
I spoke with my home office today to let them know that I completed the pre-employment drug screening this morning. And "Yes", it is as weird as it looks on the TV shows. I am waiting for them to call back and let me know where to meet the outgoing DSM tomorrow so I can begin my training.

It had to happen sooner or later...
The company I interviewed with in Albany, NY made me an offer on Monday. Since then progressivily higher ranked executives have called me at home to speak with me. I am very flattered but I still have one more company to hear from. I will be able to let them know my decision by Thursday. ::crosses my fingers:: (and my toes)...

FINALLY, things are looking up...
Had an interview with Old Time Pottery yesterday. It went really well. I would enjoy running a store for them. I fly out to Albany, NY early tomorrow morning. Did I mention that I was flying out EARLY? I have to be at the airport AT 5am for my 6am flight...::sigh::! I fly back to STL early Saturday morning, I'm going to miss the beginning of our Moving Sale here at the house. Trish is a real trooper, I love her like grapes! I also have another company interested in me for a DSM position with their company. Three possible Store Manager positions, and three possible District Sales Manager positions. I need a J-O-B real bad! Wish me luck everyone!

I'm all moved in to Trish's house, YAY!
HERE ARE TWO POEMS THAT I WROTE AT MIZZOU, THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THOSE POEMS. I TRIED TO RECREATE THEM LATER, AND I GUESS MY MEMORY ISN'T AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT IT WAS...LOL!
I REMEMBER
i dreamed of you
just a glimpse i remember
looking so beautiful
such a silken presence
brushed your cheek against mine
just a glimpse i remember
i dreamed of you
The Summer Storm
Summer winds do blow cold
when they come on like a sigh
And when the clouds come rolling in
they put a tear in my eye
A lonely heart beats the time
of the thunder in the sky
And when the rains come falling down
they trace a pathway from my eye
And I know that without my love
like the storm
I must surly die
AND THIS POEM I WORTE FOR MY STORE MANAGERS ON HALLOWEEN...
MY VOICEMAIL POEM FOR HALLOWEEN
Pumpkins carved
and candy corn
Ghosts are fed
and Goblins born
Spooks are running
doorbells ringing
Tricks advoiding
treats are bringing
"What are you?"
"Your costume's a scream!"
"A Fireman?"
"HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"

FAIRIE WAYS
The time before,
is no more.
I learned of farie ways,
stumbling through a farie daze.
One should not dance,
nor take the chance,
of a faire wish,
nor a faire dish.
Enchanted you will be
and the fey you will see.
A hundred years,
and a hundred tears,
will all come to pass,
should you tread upon their grass.
All you have cared for,
will be no more.
So wipe away your tears,
and live out the rest of your years.
With the memory of the place
and the laughter of a forgotten race...

Trish and I drove down to the Ranch so she could meet my parents. It went well. She makes me very happy. On the return trip she would sing along to the songs on the radio, it makes me smile just thinking about it...

"Thank You Trish!"
I ran out and bought some groceries this morning. While at the store I picked up a yellow 1/4 sheet cake and had the bakery lady write "Thank You Trish". So then I told all the kids that Trish watches, that they had to be good and tell Trish "Thank You" and then they could have a piece of the cake. It was a BIG hit! Trish started out by eating part of the blue flower petals and smearing it all over her teeth and tongue. Sooooooooooooooo then everyone had to put the blue died icing on their tongues too! I have a blast, LOL!

David<~~~~~going to Softball practice
Every Monday, Madie has Softball practice. I have been to everyone so far. It is a hoot. A bunch of 5 yr old girls alternating between throwing the ball, sitting down on the field when they are supposed to be playing, giggling while pushing each other, knocking the heck out of the ball, talking to their parents on the sidelines, running the bases. I have a blast! I am going to miss Madie's first game though, Trish and I are going to Texas so she can meet my folks. I am looking forward to showing her off, but it sucks that I'm going to miss Madie's first game. I have signed up to work the concessions stand on the 4th of July, no other parents wanted to work that date (not that I'm a parent, but I wish I was...). They got their practice shirts last night, RedWhiteandBlue! LOL! They look so cute in their shirts. I'll take pictures next practice...

In the still of the night...
In the still of the night
I can hear her breathing
In the still of the night
she stirs with knitted brow
In the still of the night
her dreams are troubled
In the still of the night
she moans and is afraid
In the still of the night
she cries out as if wounded
In the still of the night
I worry about her
In the still of the night
I turn to her
In the still of the night
I call her name and caress her
In the still of the night
I wake her from her nightmare
In the still of the night
I hold her in my arms
In the still of the night
I murmur little things to her
In the still of the night
she quiets and calms
In the still of the night
I love her so
In the still of the night
she falls sleep
In the still of the night
she is still again

I recycled this'n....
The Promise to Myself
A circle of gold upon my finger
a promise to myself
Two hands hold my heart
wishing for love
Hoping for loyalty
sending my heart out
Sometimes to far
seeing it cast aside
Holding it close again
to keep it from harm
It's time to turn my ring again
Because I will never quit
looking for her
And I will keep
the promise to myself

a little bit further
a little bit further
a little
a little bit
a little bit further
I can
I can go
a little bit
a little bit further
it'll be
ok for me
a little bit
a little bit further
now to
find someone who
will go with me
a little bit
a little bit further
from there
it's just
a little
a little bit
a little bit further
to here...
Talking with BlockBuster
the Smith's said it best in their song...
"Good times for a change
see the luck I've had
can make a good man go bad
so please please please
let me let me let me
let me get what I want this time
Haven't had a dream in a long time
see the life I've had
can make a good man bad
so for once in my life
let me get what I want
Lord knows it'll be the first time
Lord knows it'll be the first time..."

all night long
all night long
tears stream down my face
all night long
I wander about my place
all night long
I regret the things I said
all night long
my heart again feels dead
all night long
I stare at my laptop screen
all night long
I shouldn't have dared to dream
all night long
I'm afraid, just like before
all night long
love shouldn't be such a chore
all night long
I wish things were different
all

I have a visitor coming this weekend...
after a while you would think I'd get tired of looking at myself...hmmmmmmmmm I guess not!
my heart it dances...
sitting here
without fear
waiting for
an open door
her arrival
is my survival
like a butterfly
my heart flies by
at the end of the day
my heart will be ok
so I'm taking chances
my heart it dances....
(yes I used the imagery before, but I love it soooooooooo!)

Building Walls...
the tower
standing still
reaching high
solidly built
I know why...
safely secure
thickly made
defensive position
because I'm afraid...
barring admittance
keeping away
emotional safety
at the end of the day...
hopefully looking
rampart pacing
eagerly searching
my heart is racing...
heartfelt words
lifelong wishes
taking chances
I know what the gist is...
waiting still
seeing chances
taking them
my heart it dances...

"To Serve Man"
GUNFIGHT AT WM CORRAL
Wal-Mart Sam rode into town
and all the prices did fall down
Local men tried to attack
but Wal-Mart Sam fired back
He killed one, he killed them all
and then the bodies began to fall
Down at the local business landing
not one store was still left standing
Wal-mart Sam won the day
and now we all are going to pay
No one came to the local's aid
and now there's no place left to trade
If you bow to Wal-Mart Sam
(and I never will by God Damn)
You can buy cheap goods cheap
and all the local money will heap
at the boots of this dirty weevil
and all his cronies down at B-ville
So sorry for the lack of choices
and all the crying of all the voices
of all the people out of work
by this one discounting jerk
So take your pennies you did pinch
and give them to the B-Ville Grinch
and learn to like his inferior products
and all the hardship that you bought us
So wave goodbye as he rides away
with all our money at the end of the day
(please forgive the bitterness and forced rhymes)

I'm reading a book on Quantrill's Raiders...
Here is a song Ed Koger wrote about an incident where Riley Alley invited Quantrill to a ball so that the Union Soldiers could capture the famous Guerrilla fighter...
Old Rile Alley gave a ball,
The Feds came down and took us all
Over the ice and over the snow--
Sing-Song Kitty, won't you kiss-me-o!
Old Rile Alley gave a ball,
Planned to catch Quantrill and bushwack all,
But Quant was smart and didn't go---
Sing-Song Kitty, won't you kiss-me-o!
to know where you are going, you have to know where you come from...
Here is a poem my Pap-pa taught me...
In days of old
when Knights were bold
and toilets weren't invented
they'd lay their load
beside the road
and go along well contented

I wrote this for a friend of mine...
Won't you come back to me?
the winter sun is rising
the winter day is shining
Won't you come back to me
a January wind is blowing
a January sky is snowing
Won't you come back to me
the winter sun is setting
the winter day is jetting
Won't you come back to me
the January moon is rising
the January stars are shining
Won't you come back to me
a winter man is sleeping
a winter dream is leaping
Won't you come back to me
a January's day...
a winter's stay...
please come back to me
More pictures from my brudda!

Shattered 9th & CHERRY a COCKTAIL GALERIE & DANCETERIA
"THAT'S A DOLLAR COVER" <~~~~~~~~~my ill spent youth
Every Tuesday down at Shattered was Stephens Night. Kind of a rich college girl's version of Ladies Night. I went religiously. New Wave, Punk, House, Acid House, Techno, Hip Hop, Rock, Goth. I danced to it all. It was wonderful. Friday and Saturday night was more of the same. I was in Columbia for over 10 yrs and I saw three crops of Stephen's Girls go thru town. It was a great time. Here are some pictures I took one night down at my favorite dance spot...

the ship that sails my dreams...
I am the Captian of my own dreams
I close my eyes
and I am at sea
to sleep so deep
to be so free
I ride the waves
in my hooker black
I see the horizon
I don't look back
Gently swaying
on tossing waves
I fall asleep
it's rest I crave
So wave good bye
and say farewell
I'll sleep all night
till all is well...

THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL TONIGHT...
THE JANUARY MOON
AN EVENING SKY
A PERFECT BLACK
CRISP STILL NIGHT
LONE STAR PIERCES
THE WINTER SCENE
LIKE A PHANTOM
MY BREATH CURLS
AND RIBBONS UP
INTO THE NIGHT
AND I SEE
THE FULL MOON
LIT SO BRIGHT
CIRCLE OF IVORY
SHINING ON HIGH
A PALE HALO
SURROUNDS THE SPHERE
AND I NOTICE
IT WATCHES ME
AS I STROLL
A HALF SMILE
CROSSES MY FACE
BECAUSE I KNOW
THE WORLD MOVES
AND TIME PASSES
ALL IS OK
EVEN FOR ME
AND I SMILE

I like her smile...
A poem for Susan...
With eyes a twinkling and a laughing smile
Her voice so sweet, without any guile
With her loving nature and protecting arms
She raised her family and kept them from harm
With her creamy skin and auburn hair
I surprised myself and began to care
Where this will lead us, where this will go
I'm haven't a clue, but I'd like to know
So I'm sitting back and taking it easy
following my heart
to see
where it
leads me...

I have this Queen song running thru my head...
another one gone, another one gone, another one bites the dust...
Just woke up and I have the whole day off!
Sitting here enjoying the quiet of an early Saturday morning, the only sounds are the ticking of my clocks and my wind chimes out on the balconey...
Good morning everyone!

Home sick today
poem for today
the day is new
the day was long
my time is now
my time is gone
I see before me
I see behind
I'm out of chances
I'm out of time
I turn to see it
I turn away
I look tomorrow
I look today
to find my love
to find my heart
it's time to quit
it's time to start
so say hello
or say goodbye
I'll never quit
I'll always try
