Trish and I drove down to the Ranch so she could meet my parents. It went well. She makes me very happy. On the return trip she would sing along to the songs on the radio, it makes me smile just thinking about it...

Trish and I are traveling to Texas this Thursday so she can meet my parents (insert your own farm joke here). I am really excited. Now if I can get me a job...
I ran out and bought some groceries this morning. While at the store I picked up a yellow 1/4 sheet cake and had the bakery lady write "Thank You Trish". So then I told all the kids that Trish watches, that they had to be good and tell Trish "Thank You" and then they could have a piece of the cake. It was a BIG hit! Trish started out by eating part of the blue flower petals and smearing it all over her teeth and tongue. Sooooooooooooooo then everyone had to put the blue died icing on their tongues too! I have a blast, LOL!
Every Monday, Madie has Softball practice. I have been to everyone so far. It is a hoot. A bunch of 5 yr old girls alternating between throwing the ball, sitting down on the field when they are supposed to be playing, giggling while pushing each other, knocking the heck out of the ball, talking to their parents on the sidelines, running the bases. I have a blast! I am going to miss Madie's first game though, Trish and I are going to Texas so she can meet my folks. I am looking forward to showing her off, but it sucks that I'm going to miss Madie's first game. I have signed up to work the concessions stand on the 4th of July, no other parents wanted to work that date (not that I'm a parent, but I wish I was...). They got their practice shirts last night, RedWhiteandBlue! LOL! They look so cute in their shirts. I'll take pictures next practice...

In the still of the night
I can hear her breathing
In the still of the night
she stirs with knitted brow
In the still of the night
her dreams are troubled
In the still of the night
she moans and is afraid
In the still of the night
she cries out as if wounded
In the still of the night
I worry about her
In the still of the night
I turn to her
In the still of the night
I call her name and caress her
In the still of the night
I wake her from her nightmare
In the still of the night
I hold her in my arms
In the still of the night
I murmur little things to her
In the still of the night
she quiets and calms
In the still of the night
I love her so
In the still of the night
she falls sleep
In the still of the night
she is still again
