I'm reading a book on Quantrill's Raiders...
Here is a song Ed Koger wrote about an incident where Riley Alley invited Quantrill to a ball so that the Union Soldiers could capture the famous Guerrilla fighter...
Old Rile Alley gave a ball,
The Feds came down and took us all
Over the ice and over the snow--
Sing-Song Kitty, won't you kiss-me-o!
Old Rile Alley gave a ball,
Planned to catch Quantrill and bushwack all,
But Quant was smart and didn't go---
Sing-Song Kitty, won't you kiss-me-o!
to know where you are going, you have to know where you come from...
Here is a poem my Pap-pa taught me...
In days of old
when Knights were bold
and toilets weren't invented
they'd lay their load
beside the road
and go along well contented

Yet more pictures from my brother...
(OK, IT IS OFFICIAL, I HATE AOL, I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AND ORGANIZE ALL THE PICS AGAIN BECAUSE AOL KEEPS LOSING MY PICS OFF OF MY JOURNAL................)
I wrote this for a friend of mine...
Won't you come back to me?
the winter sun is rising
the winter day is shining
Won't you come back to me
a January wind is blowing
a January sky is snowing
Won't you come back to me
the winter sun is setting
the winter day is jetting
Won't you come back to me
the January moon is rising
the January stars are shining
Won't you come back to me
a winter man is sleeping
a winter dream is leaping
Won't you come back to me
a January's day...
a winter's stay...
please come back to me
More pictures from my brudda!
TODAY
today is the day
that yesterday
seemed so far away
tomorrow will be
not so bad for me
the future is wide open...

Shattered 9th & CHERRY a COCKTAIL GALERIE & DANCETERIA
"THAT'S A DOLLAR COVER" <~~~~~~~~~my ill spent youth
Every Tuesday down at Shattered was Stephens Night. Kind of a rich college girl's version of Ladies Night. I went religiously. New Wave, Punk, House, Acid House, Techno, Hip Hop, Rock, Goth. I danced to it all. It was wonderful. Friday and Saturday night was more of the same. I was in Columbia for over 10 yrs and I saw three crops of Stephen's Girls go thru town. It was a great time. Here are some pictures I took one night down at my favorite dance spot...

the ship that sails my dreams...
I am the Captian of my own dreams
I close my eyes
and I am at sea
to sleep so deep
to be so free
I ride the waves
in my hooker black
I see the horizon
I don't look back
Gently swaying
on tossing waves
I fall asleep
it's rest I crave
So wave good bye
and say farewell
I'll sleep all night
till all is well...

THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL TONIGHT...
THE JANUARY MOON
AN EVENING SKY
A PERFECT BLACK
CRISP STILL NIGHT
LONE STAR PIERCES
THE WINTER SCENE
LIKE A PHANTOM
MY BREATH CURLS
AND RIBBONS UP
INTO THE NIGHT
AND I SEE
THE FULL MOON
LIT SO BRIGHT
CIRCLE OF IVORY
SHINING ON HIGH
A PALE HALO
SURROUNDS THE SPHERE
AND I NOTICE
IT WATCHES ME
AS I STROLL
A HALF SMILE
CROSSES MY FACE
BECAUSE I KNOW
THE WORLD MOVES
AND TIME PASSES
ALL IS OK
EVEN FOR ME
AND I SMILE

I like her smile...
A poem for Susan...
With eyes a twinkling and a laughing smile
Her voice so sweet, without any guile
With her loving nature and protecting arms
She raised her family and kept them from harm
With her creamy skin and auburn hair
I surprised myself and began to care
Where this will lead us, where this will go
I'm haven't a clue, but I'd like to know
So I'm sitting back and taking it easy
following my heart
to see
where it
leads me...

I have this Queen song running thru my head...
another one gone, another one gone, another one bites the dust...
Just woke up and I have the whole day off!
Sitting here enjoying the quiet of an early Saturday morning, the only sounds are the ticking of my clocks and my wind chimes out on the balconey...
Good morning everyone!

Home sick today
poem for today
the day is new
the day was long
my time is now
my time is gone
I see before me
I see behind
I'm out of chances
I'm out of time
I turn to see it
I turn away
I look tomorrow
I look today
to find my love
to find my heart
it's time to quit
it's time to start
so say hello
or say goodbye
I'll never quit
I'll always try
